Fairfields United Methodist Women

We meet the second Wednesday of each month.  We have "Devotions" followed by a business meetings.  On several occasions we go out to lunch as a group.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, August 12, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. in the social hall.

Some of the things we help support are:

• Three Rivers Healthy Family
• Heart Haven - home for the mentally challenged
• Mattaponi Youth
• The Haven - shelter for abused women
• Covington-Hurst Education Fund
• Deliver "Meals on Wheels"
• Provide meals for staff of Free Health Clinic - several times a year 

June Robey, 86, recently received the Distinguished Service Award from the United Methodist Women of Fairfields United Methodist Church in Burgess.  As Fairfields' unofficial secretary of remembrance, "it's estimated that she has sent more than 3,000 cards over the years, all of them hand-signed with a warm "Your friends at Fairfields."  She is pictured with Fairfields's pastor, the Reverend Brant K.
